Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for driving process improvements, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring product quality. This role analyzes production activities and implements data-driven solutions to enhance safety, quality, and productivity. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will lead the integration of our MRP system into manufacturing operations. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage key stakeholders, and drive sustainable improvements within the manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain the MRP system, including but not limited to raw materials, labor routings, bills of materials, and general workflows.
• Use data analytics to diagnose production inefficiencies, identify bottlenecks, and propose actionable solutions to enhance quality, safety, and productivity.
• Partner with production and supply chain personnel to brainstorm and implement improvements to identified areas of opportunity.
• Act as the manufacturing representative on inter-departmental process R&D or improvement teams.
• Partner with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain to recommend equipment plans, to include repairs, replacements, new technology.
• Write data-centered capital requests and drive them through the approval process.
• Collaborate with Estimating to incorporate all efficiency changes in our estimates.
• Collaborate with industry peers to learn and implement best practices.
• Standardize and document process improvements, develop SOPs, and lead training programs to ensure effective adoption.
Preferred Minimum Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of manufacturing experience.
• Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, process design, and process optimization.
• Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems, with SAP experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and process modeling.
• Strong project management and change management skills.
• Experienced with process design, optimization, and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Proven ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills in cross-functional teams.
• Highly organized, proactive, and results-driven with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
