Steamfitter & Plumber Labor Coordinator

The Labor Coordinator will monitor and track on-site craft labor across various job locations.  This role is a point of contact between the company and the members of Local Unions.  A representative of Tweet/Garot to actively recruit employees in accordance with labor and pre-apprentices requirements.

Description of Duties:

  • Receives and fills labor requests in the best interest of the company
  • Prioritizing customer request based on manpower availability
  • Evaluations of Foremen and labor skill sets and qualifications -training records – certification records
  • Visit job site to develop and maintain relationship with employees and communicate company topics relevant to the field
  • Assists with new hire interviews, and set starting pay rates for pre-apprentices
  • Support the onboarding of Union new hires
  • Acts as stakeholder with Union Joint Apprenticeship Committee, monitors apprentice performance and addresses issues as necessary
  • Facilitates the field labor issues workflow (Shop and Field labor)
  • Executes responsibilities within the flexible employee process
  • Resource for Business Agent information – usually for out of state work – ability and how many labor resources to travel to jurisdiction
  • Support site orientation with Human Resources and Field Foreman to include scheduling, collecting background check authorizations
  • Work with Safety Department to facilitate trainings for new hires and existing employees
  • Help develop and facilitate Foreman Level 10 meeting
  • Monitor and maintain field labor and help facilitate layoffs companywide by handing out slips to site foreman or reassign labor within the company if applicable
  • Assist in the execution of the company drug test program, coordinate the scheduling of random test per local contract
  • Work with AM/PM to establish pay rate and subsistence package for out of state work
  • Partner with HR and Safety to re-assign light duty assignments

Minimum Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED, along with successful completion of apprenticeship program; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Completion of Apprenticeship
  • Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
