Position Summary:
The Tool Crib Team Member role is responsible for picking and returning orders in an accurate and timely manner, performing safety and quality checks, repairing tools and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse, responding promptly to all customer requests, maintaining accurate inventory levels in the ERP system, and providing a high level of customer service to all internal customers.
The Tool Crib Team Member will flex in to help other groups as volume requires and will act as a back-up to Receiving and the Tool Crib Lead. This role will also be responsible for developing improvement ideas to increase the speed and accuracy of work across the department.
A successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, a high level of attention to detail, and look out for and improve individual and team safety.
Description of Duties
• Monitor incoming Tool Crib requests and provide timely, accurate, and customer-focused responses.
• Accurately and efficiently pick tools and equipment to fill orders for internal customers.
• Receive, sign for, unload, and put away deliveries accurately and efficiently.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Process returns for incorrect or unsatisfactory items.
• Partner with vendors in sourcing and problem-solving activities.
• Document warehouse activities within a barcoding and ERP system.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse area.
• Perform safety and quality inspections on product being returned and shipped out.
• Set and communicate work priorities to meet all customer needs.
• Participate in a cross-functional team; flex to support changes in volume between multiple teams.
• Work to improve performance on Key Performance Indicators relevant to delivery, quality, cost, and internal customer service.
• Suggest, support, and execute continuous improvement projects.
• Provide excellent customer experience to plant production, field installation, and project/account management teams.
• Assist in cleaning and de-badging company fleet trucks.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:
• 2+ Years of Warehousing experience
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to remain positive and organized in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Ability and desire to regularly work within a team to develop mutually beneficial solutions
• High comfort level with multi-tasking and changing priorities
• Problem solving and logical analysis skills
• Self-motivated, open-minded, results, and action oriented
• Demonstrated willingness to learn
• Experience with Microsoft office suite
• Data entry and inventory software experience preferred
• Mechanical ability, a plus
• Basic math skills
• Ability to operate forklifts
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
