Position Summary:
The Virtual Pipe Designer works closely with internal, external, and customers to build a virtual model from schematic drawings. Following the Tweet/Garot virtual construction standards and workflow produce a layout drawing using Revit for ongoing projects and phases. This role contributes to creating project plans as required and providing status updates to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner.
Description of Duties:
• Build 3D modeling and coordination of mechanical pipe systems.
• Production and management of construction drawings.
• Assisting with Revit design for coordination drawings.
• Utilization of PDF readers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal team members, external clients, and customers.
• Spooling and creating assemblies within Stratus.
• Pre-Construction modularization experience is a plus.
• Work on projects in multiple industry areas within Tweet/Garot.
• Open to complete new training opportunities.
Minimum Knowledge, Experience & Skills Recommended:
• Degree in a design or trade education (Journeyman Card), a background in Revit/CAD, and strong understanding of commercial/Industrial construction
• Ability to analyze P&IDs, Job Specs, and construction documentation
• Field experience with an understanding of pipe layout/installation practices
• 3 years of Revit experience is a plus
• Experience using Autodesk products
• Ability to read and comprehend construction and coordination documents.
• Flexibility, time management and organizational skills, excellent follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are a must.
• Desire and ability to learn new skills quickly and to take direction.
• Strong technology skills, including Revit, Navis Works, AutoCAD MEP, MS Office, Blue Beam, Plant 3D, and Inventor.
• Point layout tool software experience.
• 3D scanning software experience.
• Occasional travel to project sites, client locations, and other Tweet/Garot shop and office facilities.
• General construction math is required.
