Bellin College

Ministry The Bellin College in Green Bay is a 72,000 square foot building that was opened in 2009. Tweet/Garot was the HVAC Contractor of choice for the project. Bellin College committed to reducing its carbon footprint at the new campus by using energy-saving technology. By participating in the Whole Building Track Project, Bellin College has reduced its energy consumption by 20-30%.

Tweet/Garot was responsible for the design/assist services and to maintain the HVAC budget target cost while reducing the energy usage for the building.  We worked closely with Raasch Associates as a Design/Assist Partner to help size the HVAC ductwork layout for the facility as well as the radiant heat system. High-efficiency heating, cooling, and ventilation systems were installed by Tweet/Garot. A custom-designed air handling/chiller rooftop system was manufactured by Mammoth Inc. which also houses two hot water boilers. A Liebert cooling unit was installed for the IT area.

Pre-fabrication of piping spools, duct, VAV assemblies, and radiant heating components were all done in Tweet/Garot’s Green Bay shop and shipped to the site for quick and easy installation. Every pre-fabricated item was marked with the floor, and room location. Movable racks were built to wheel the items off the delivery truck and into the building to the tagged locations.

Tweet/Garot provided all the (BIM) coordination drawings for all trades through our CAD dept. These drawings saved the trades hundreds of man-hours of reduced labor due to the pre-planning and accuracy of the drawings. Collision detection was identified up-front so that re-work was eliminated during the installation phase.
