Tweet Garot Partners with Greater Green Bay Community Foundation to Launch Pilot Program Tackling Homelessness

(Green Bay, WI) Tweet Garot Mechanical is proud to co-invest with the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation in a new pilot program designed to reduce homelessness in Brown County by leveraging existing affordable housing and delivering wraparound supportive services.

Developed by the Brown County Homeless and Housing Coalition and aligned with the Greater Green Bay Blueprint to Prevent and End Homelessness, the initiative addresses a rising crisis. From 2022 to 2024, homelessness in Brown County increased by over 10%, with unsheltered homelessness nearly tripling, and the average length of homelessness rising by 57%.

The program removes common barriers to housing by supporting both tenants and landlords:

  • Tenant Support – Up to two years of case management, education (e.g., Rent Smart), home visits, and conflict resolution.
  • Landlord Engagement – Collaborative support to reduce eviction risk and build trust.
  • Coordinated Entry – Ensures those with the greatest housing barriers are prioritized.
  • Tenant Success Fund – Covers potential landlord costs like damages or unpaid rent—though use is expected to be minimal due to strong service support.

Launching with 10 households, the initiative is modeled after successful programs nationwide and aims to reduce shelter demand, shorten periods of homelessness, and establish a scalable framework for long-term impact.

“Homelessness isn’t just a housing issue—it’s a community challenge that requires all of us to step up,” said Christopher Howald, Chairman and CEO of Tweet Garot Mechanical. “This program represents the kind of thoughtful, evidence-based approach that can create real change, and we’re grateful to the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation for bringing this innovative solution to our community. By supporting both tenants and landlords while addressing root causes, we’re creating pathways for people to regain stability and thrive with dignity. This investment reflects our core belief that strong communities are built when we lift each other up.”
