Process Piping System for Project Bronco

Project Bronco

The owner provides packaging solutions to food, beverage, foodservice and other consumer products companies.  The mill at this project location is home to a new coated recycled board machine. We were selected to provide and install piping for the Steam and Condensate, Coating Kitchen, Coating Kitchen Utilities, and Wet End Chemical piping scopes of work.

Tweet/Garot provided qualified pipe fitters, welders, riggers, and on-site management, all of which were key factors in the success of this project. Careful preplanning and coordination between all crews kept the project moving forward.

Tweet/Garot provided and installed the following:

  • 4,518 prefabricated pipe spools equating to nearly 10 total miles of carbon and stainless-steel pipe installed.
  • Process Piping to and from 14 storage tanks – each holding a specific ingredient for the coating process.
  • Installation of a condensate receiver tank weighing over 10,000 lbs and mounted on a custom steel structural platform.
  • Prefabricated condensate headers with special odd degree angled branches based on installation requirements.
  • Steam pressure reducing station consisting of 24” carbon steel pipe with gate valves weighing in excess of 3,000 lbs. which needed to be carefully rigged into place.
  • 30’ long condensate collection headers made from 24” stainless steel pipe.
  • 6 expansion loops on the equipment mezzanine for steam and condensate piping.
  • Installation of (2) 640-ton chillers on the operating floor.

Tweet/Garot experienced just three minor safety incidents over an accumulated 239,625 hours worked while employing up to 180 workers all during the short 9-month project span. This was an incredible feat given the number of tradesmen and women from all crafts on site at the same time.
